Taking a break from the packing

Darren and I are still putting stuff in boxes and bags. I cleaned out the car today so that Mom will be rollin' in style (it was surprisingly clean, with the exception of the entire bag of kitty litter all over the trunk, but I vacuumed that).

Yesterday was the Collett-McKay picnic, and I'll get to that in a minute, but at Picnic Marilyn and Tricia pointed out that they weren't sure how to post an update to this blog. I can help!

You can either go to http://www.blogger.com directly, or do what I do and go to the blog first, then click on the Blogger logo in the upper left corner:

You might need to log in with your username and password. Once you do that, or if you've previously told Blogger to remember you, you'll see your Dashboard, which lists the blog name (Distance is Relative). Click on the green plus sign to start a new post. From here, these instructions will show you how to create and write your post.

Blogger will automatically save a draft every minute or so. That way, you don't have to remember to save anything. If you have other questions about how to post to the blog, you can find answers here or email me (sarkasmo at gmail dot com).

On to the pictures of the picnic!

This one is of Katie and me:

And here's some of the Talmage family:

And here's the whole Talmage family (the ones that were there, anyway):

The Talmage girls:

And a great picture of Darren:

Tricia and Marilyn are having breakfast with us Monday morning (early...oh, so early) and then they're hitting the road again. I hope they have a safe trip back, just like the drive here. After breakfast, Dad and I will be picking up the rental truck. Anyone who wants to help us fill it up is welcome to show up. I realize it's Monday, though, and people have jobs and stuff.

Our internet and cable will be disconnected starting on Monday morning. You can still send me emails, but I won't get them until we get an internet connection up in Canada. Until then, take care!

This is cool. I posted on another blog about the Collett-McKay Picnic.

Anyhow, I was there. Howard Doster introduced me when the comments were given before the blessing.

I run the family website 'Robert Mackay Clan' and have a section about the Collett-McKay Picnic at this link:

(The Collett-McKay Picnic)

When Howard gets the pictures out I will have a copy up on the page for the 2006 Newspaper write-up.

Great to see more Collett-McKay cousins here!!
